‘Curtain’ is one of the fifteen short stories compiled in After the Sunset and is written by famous Nepali author Bhagirathi Shrestha. In the story, the author picks a hard-working Nepali family who has recently moved into their rich neighborhood. A curtain, which hangs from their window, becomes the symbol of the family’s hard life and struggle. Told from the perspective of a rich family living next door, the final revelation of the story shocks readers. The story was translated by Damodar Sharma and edited by Ram Chandra Khatri. Bhagirathi’s over half dozen books of short stories are published.
